Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Dimitrov, manager of SDSN Bulgaria, was one of the Chairs of the Workshop: Integrating Sustainable Development Goals into Real World: Challenges and Opportunities, organized by SDSN Romania. The event was part of the International Conference on Economics and Social Sciences – ICESS 2026, held on 18 and 19 June 2026 at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies<\/a>, Romania. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atanas Dimitrov gave a talk titled “Achieving Food Security in the Face of Growing Armed Conflicts: A Challenge That Extends Beyond 2030”, during which he brought attention to the need for a UN-centered approach to conflict resolution and the achievement of SDG2. Representatives from other SDSN national and regional networks also attended the workshop, demonstrating effective collaboration among the Networks at the European level. Prof. Nicolaos Theodossiou, Chair of SDSN Black Sea<\/a>, presented his views on “Sustainability: A regional approach by the people for people”, while Jan Cools and Inge Willems from SDSN Belgium<\/a> presented their study “Organizational engagement with the sustainable development goals (SDGs): theoretical perspectives and empirical insights in a public sector context”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assoc. Prof. Elena Preda, Manager of SDSN Romania, was Co-Chair and moderator of the workshop. The event was attended by selected students from Bucharest University of Economic Studies, who presented their research and ideas in the SDGs field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
